Trans-Siberian Railroad. (7-11 days, May-October)
Great Trans-Siberian Railroad, the Russian miracle, passes all Russia between Moscow and Vladivostok. The building of railroad was begun in 1891. Great Trans-Siberian Railroad had no equal in the world for speed of building, length, difficulty of construction and size of done works. The Railroad passes through Ural's Ridges, swamps of west-Siberian lowlands, subways and artificial buildings of Baikal, powerful Siberian rivers and Amur River, the taiga wilds of The Far Eastern taiga.
We offer educational (cognitive) railway tour that comprises cultural, historical, ethnographical and ecological elements. The route of a bipartite orientation: it begins in Vladivostok and ends in Irkutsk (or in Ulan-Ude) or inversely.
Vladivostok is a Far Post of Russia in the Far East. The tourists will visit unique fortifications of Sea Fortress. Then the tourists will travel to Khabarovsk by special train "Okean". There is other alternative to travel to Khabarovsk by the bus. During this route the tourists can visit the Center of research of Amur Tiger, lake of lotuses, the museum "Russian house" that dates the time of 19th century, Smakovka resorts, friary, and chapel.
In Khabarovsk tourists will have a chance to visit the museum of regional studies and voyage across the Amur River with the folklore group.
Duaring trip in Khabarovsk the tourists will go to Chita. They will enjoy the beauty of taiga, magic appearance of the rivers, and cross Amur River on the unique bridge.
The tourists will see Mikhailo-Arhangelskaya church. It is the unique monument of the first half of 17th century on the territory of Far East and Siberia. There is a museum of Decembrists. After visiting of it the tourists will know about their inestimable input in the development of culture, science, education, handicrafts, public health of Russia.
The next step in the tour is a travel by train to Irkutsk or Ulan-Ude. The tourists will live in Russian families where they can enjoy Siberian cuisine and Russian bath. They also will have the excursion in the city with the guide, trip to Olhon Island and to the biggest magic Baikal Lake that is supposed to be one of the most powerful centers of Shamanism in the world.
The tourists will have a chance to enjoy of wonderful nature of Island, visit some local sights, see the unique lake with curative waters, the old building of fishing factory. Convicts worked in this factory during he Stalin Period.
Also tourists will have an opportunity to drive a car along the Angara River to Listvanka River. This place has a lot of interesting sights such as wood Russian orthodoxy church of 18th century, linguistic museum (the meeting with wild nature and ecosystem of region). Moreover, the visitors will enjoy the wonderful panorama of Baikal and see old Trans-Siberian Railroad with its multiple subways.
In Ulan-Ude we offer a trip to "Atsagatskiy Datsan". Many years ago it was the center of Tibet medicine. Then the tourists will visit the village that was found in the end of 19th century. They will know many traditions and habits of Buryatia that exist today, come around the village, learn the everyday life and lifestyle of native dwellers, and will have a supper in a house of Buryatia family.
Next day we plan to show you Ivolginskiy Datsan (the abbey), which was the center of Buddhism in Russia for a long time. The tourists will see the unique library of books of Buddhism and "Buddha's paradise". Then the tourists will walk in the city, visit historical sights of Ulan - Ude and famous bust of Lenin. Also the travelers will go to the East Medicine Center and learn about its activity, methods of cure, and history of Tibet medicine. For the additional payment visitors can check their organisms.
The tour ends in Irkutsk where tourists are driven to railway station or airport. Then they go home.
